OnMusic Companion

I have had the opportunity to teach Music Fundamentals 4th Edition course this past Summer semester via the OMC platform and it was perfect for me as my class was both online and Face to Face. At first, I was hesitant to teach a music class on such a platform as so many factors came into play. This platform is user friendly and is what I would call a “One Stop Shop, Everything Rolled into One”.

All the music resources, introduction to new topics, examples, instructions, demonstrations were all interactive and the entire course was taught right from the platform in addition to me using the dry erase board for further instructions. Students were able to complete mock quizzes and tests and received immediate feedback before their graded tests. The music course was built to my specification and I was able to hide, add and delete information from the course as the need arises. Technical assistance from the C4E staff was readily available and done in a timely fashion. Using this platform was a rewarding experience for me and I would definitely recommend it to other professors.

I've found the OnMusic Companion platform to be a transformative resource, especially for music students in remote locations who normally couldn't access the resources of our main campus. Its flexibility in course customization, paired with an extensive library of music assets, enabled me to create an engaging World Music course that successfully connected students from multiple islands.
